Devised and Performed by:Down Syndrome Association (Singapore) Conceptualised, Written & Directed by:Jean Ng Assistant Director:Julius Foo

Nonsense is a story about refugees.

It is also a story about us.
War is nonsense.

Millions losing their families and homes is nonsense.

And then,

What we take as sense may sometimes be nonsense.
What we take as nonsense may sometimes be beauty and hope.

Nonsense is an original play devised and performed by young people with Down syndrome and other intellectual differences.

A classic boy-meets-girl story in modern day Singapore. Or is it?

Without Reason explores the challenges of an interracial relationship where a Chinese girl and a Malay boy struggle to overcome cultural differences, reconcile religious beliefs, and manage the expectations of friends and family. This coming-of-age story will take you on an unforgettable quest for love and the search for identity.

This play was originally written and devised under the mentorship of Buds Youth Theatre Development and received development support from Centre 42.
